Psychedelics and Technology The Neuroscience PerspectiveOverview

Shaskes (Sarit)Hashkes, CEO of Radix Motion and CTIO of Red Light Holland

In this keynote, we take a look at psychedelics and technology from a neuroscience standpoint, examining both the underlying mechanisms of psychedelic effects on the brain and the innovative applications of technology to simulate or support psychedelic experiences.

This session aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration between neuroscience, technology, and psychedelic research, ultimately advancing our understanding of psychedelics and their potential therapeutic applications in conjunction with innovative technological solutions.

Key Take Aways:

• Intro to Predictive Coding Understanding of Classical Psychedelics:

An overview of how classical psychedelics influence the brain utilizing the predictive coding neuroscience framework, offering insights into altered perception, and cognition.

• Technology for Simulating or Supporting Psychedelic Use:

Exploration of various technologies, including bio and neurofeedback devices, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR), and their potential to simulate or enhance psychedelic experiences. Discussion of benefits, limitations, and ethical considerations associated with each technology.

• Psychedelic Design Concepts for Healthy Technology:

Examination of design principles and concepts taken from understanding the influences of psychedelics aimed at building technology that supports a healthy brain and body. Topics include connection-centered design and harm reduction strategies.

Meet the Speaker

  • CEO Radix Motion and CTIO Red Light Holland

Shashkes is an entrepreneur utilizing knowledge from her cognitive neuroscience research that focused on psychedelics, embodiment, and immersive technology.

She is CEO of Radix Motion a company specializing in human movement data and CTIO of Red Light Holland, a canadian publicly traded holistic mushroom company which also sells psilocybin fungi products in the Netherland.

She advocates for promoting a better understanding of how immersive technology and psychedelics can change the statistical calculations of our brains and a deeper understanding of our brain’s complex levels of agency. She promotes a holistic approach to mental health by increasing the bandwidth between (and within) self, others, and the environment.
